Sutton Dress Code: Striving for Excellence!

(The partnership with North Atlanta High School goes beyond the academic focus to include transitions between athletic programs, the performing arts and student expectations as related to our schools’ new Dress Code.)

Required for Boys: Collared shirts with sleeves, tucked into appropriate sized pants or shorts (with a belt loop), belted at the waist (belt must be visible).

Required for Girls: Collared shirts or crew neckline (at the neck) shirts (solid colored or patterned); No V-necks or plunging necklines.
Pants or skirts/shorts that are a maximum of 3 inches above the knee (even if worn with leggings underneath). For girls, shirts do not have to be tucked in and pants/shorts/skirts do not have to be belted, but must be worn at the waist.

What is NOT acceptable:

• All denim/jean material clothing (jean jackets allowed for outerwear but must be left in locker during school day).
• Flip-flops, beachwear, shower shoes, slippers
• Clothing with messages or pictures on them
• Plunging, low-scooped, or V- necklines for girls
• Oversized clothing
• Torn or patched clothing
• Hooded shirts or zip-ups unless it is Sutton Spirit wear (outerwear left in lockers may have hoods).
• Boxers or sleepwear
• Any clothes showing a bare midriff or back
• Tank tops, halters, tube tops, spaghetti straps, camisoles
• Hats, sunglasses, bandanas
• Backpacks (of any kind) in classroom; purses are acceptable

What is acceptable: Any Sutton Spirit wear; clothing with patterns and colors; neat, properly fitting, cargo pants. Click here to download the Sutton Spirit wear order form. Fill it out and have your child bring it to his / her homeroom teacher. Be sure to include your payment.

Acceptable in the classroom:

• Sweatshirts (no hoods)
• Fleeces
• Vests
• Light weight jackets (appropriately fitting, not oversized); all other coats/jackets/other outerwear must be left in locker during school day.

** Teachers please check for dress code compliance IN HOMEROOM. Send student in violation to counselor with a dress code slip. Counselor will get student appropriate clothing and send him/her back to class with slip.

**TJ’s closet is in need of boys’ belts of all sizes, girls’ tops and bottoms, and smaller size boys’ pants. Please collect and contribute if possible. Thank you!!!
