Welcome Cougar Parents to an exciting 2010-2011 at Sutton Middle School!

Change has been in the air in Buckhead for awhile and each year our middle school is seeing growth and support like never before. This year looks to be BIG in every way one would hope. Increased enrollment means an even bigger, stronger PTA. We are constantly hearing from our excited new parents and we love it. They want to participate and continue to strengthen the foundation that has been laid at Sutton over the past years. Please don’t forget that there have always been families working hard at building Sutton’s PTA and we have them to thank for where it is today. Each year, a new group moves in and brings their talent and energies. We’ve learned it’s best to get on board fast and “connect.” No matter what feeder school your child is from, he or she will soon find that we are all Sutton Cougars now and it’s a very refreshing and empowering feeling! These three short years of middle school go by fast. By jumping in with both feet and making new friends from all over our district, you’ll find that your comfort zone in a new school opens up very quickly!

Our goal this year is to increase communication with parents and make stronger, quicker connections between our feeder school families. We implore you to open your Sutton e-newsletter, Sutton Source, every other Thursday. It will truly be your source for all the current news. We encourage you to attend the monthly Coffee Talks in the Media Center, and bring your kids to the amazing football games on Saturday mornings in the fall, basketball games in the winter and baseball in the spring. We offer fifteen different sports and an abundance of interesting clubs at Sutton! Our music program is beyond compare—don’t miss our seasonal concerts! When there is a social event on the Sutton calendar, please mark it on yours and make the most of your time here!
